With the FIFA World Cup bringing an expected 650,000 visitors to the Kansas City area, residents are exploring short-term rentals to capitalize on the tourism surge. Local officials and hospitality groups recently hosted a two-day crash course teaching residents how to safely and effectively list homes on platforms. Kansas City recently approved legislation creating a “major events” short-term rental category, offering reduced permit fees and up to 90-day rental periods.
