Hospitality Payments Company Planet Moves Into Rentals With Avantio Acquisition

Hospitality software and payments technology company Planet has purchased vacation rental management service Avantio for an undisclosed amount, which will unlock new services and capabilities for Avantio's clients. Spain-based Avantio's products include a property management system, a channel manager, customized websites, and direct booking tools. The company boasts 900-plus global customers and links with platforms including Airbnb, Vrbo, and Booking.com. Planet's clientele cover more than 120 markets, and the company says its digital commerce platform is engineered to put the customer experience first. "Vacation rentals is a high growth market with a growing customer base. With that, the hospitality sector is seeing ever higher consumer expectations, where digital platforms and tools are driving rapid change," said Planet CEO Brent Warrington. "We're creating an all-in-one connected commerce solution for property managers, which combines software, payments, and technology to deliver a consistent, convenient, and richer personalized experience. Planet and Avantio will help property managers take full advantage of the surge in demand from consumers, saving them time and driving more revenue, while ensuring their customers receive the best guest experience."
