    Exciting Changes for VRMA

    Dear VRMA Members:

I am pleased to communicate exciting news that will assuredly take our organization to the next level. As part of our strategic planning efforts, the Vacation Rental Managers Association (VRMA) Board of Directors is looking to the future and has been exploring management options to best support us as we continue to evolve and grow. We are committed to increasing membership, enhancing our products and services, and strengthening our position in the industry through advocacy and public relations.

Working with a consultant who researched providers in the industry, we undertook a detailed and thoughtful association management firm search process. After considerable discussion and reflection we have chosen SmithBucklin Corporation as our new management company, effective today, December 1, 2015. The vote for SmithBucklin was a unanimous board decision.

Up to this time, VRMA has partnered with the Raybourn Group International in Indianapolis, Indiana for association management services. On behalf of the board, I would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation for their support, guidance, and hard work over the years. As I am sure many of you are aware, their staff has been an asset to our organization, and we will miss working with them.

We are excited about this opportunity to partner with SmithBucklin, the association management and services company more organizations turn to than any other. SmithBucklin has extensive experience in managing and growing professional trade associations such as VRMA. In particular, its experience in government affairs and advocacy efforts will assuredly help us navigate the ever-changing regulatory landscape and help fight anti-vacation rental legislation. This partnership also provides us with access to knowledgeable staff members who have developed and implemented successful strategies for other not-for-profit organizations to enhance educational offerings, expand membership, and build strong sponsor relationships with major players in the industry.

We have officially moved our operations to SmithBucklin's Washington, DC office.

Should you have additional questions or concerns, please see the management change frequently asked questions or contact me directly at bedwards@ndrp.com.

    Best regards,

    Ben Edwards
