AI Boosts Efficiency for Short-Term Rental Operators

Short-term rental operators are increasingly using artificial intelligence (AI) to improve efficiency and profitability, according to Hostaway’s 2026 Short-Term Rental Report. Surveying over 300 operators in 46 countries, the report found 61% employed AI tools in 2025, rising to 79% among managers with more than 50 units. Benefits include saving over five hours per week for nearly 30% of large operators and hundreds of dollars monthly for more than half. Adoption is highest in Europe at 68%. Despite AI gains, direct bookings remain underutilized, with most operators generating less than 25% of reservations through their own websites.
