Airbnb Appoints David Spielfogel as Global Policy Chief

Airbnb has appointed David Spielfogel as global head of public policy as the company restructures its government affairs operations. Spielfogel, formerly chief business officer at electric mobility company Lime, will oversee Airbnb’s worldwide policy strategy and report to co-founder Nate Blecharczyk. The move comes as Airbnb faces increasing regulation of short-term rentals in cities worldwide, including New York and Barcelona. Jay Carney, who led Airbnb’s policy and communications teams since 2022, is departing.
