Arapahoe County, CO, Lawmakers Postpone Vote on STR Regulations

5/4/2026

Arapahoe County, Colorado, commissioners postponed a vote on new short-term rental regulations after technical issues disrupted public participation during a meeting. The board had initially approved the rules but reversed course and rescheduled the final vote for May 12 so residents using phone and online systems could fully participate. The proposed ordinance would create a licensing system for rentals. It includes rules on occupancy limits, parking plans, insurance requirements, minimum spacing between rentals, and bans on large gatherings. Owners would also need a local contact available 24/7 and annual license renewals, with fees totaling $550.
