Buncombe Co. Short-Term Rental Rules Head to a Vote
4/3/2024
The Buncombe County, North Carolina, Planning Board is scheduled to vote on April 22 on whether to recommend that the County Commission adopt restrictions on new short-term rentals (STRs). If the planning board recommends the restrictions, it's up to the County Commission to decide the next steps. Commissioners can accept or reject the recommendation or adopt it with changes. The board finalized the language of the proposed STR ordinance at an April 1 work session. The ordinance would, among other things, limit new STRs to certain districts and set limits on the total permitted square footage of each STR.
