Commission OKs New Short-Term Rental Regulations for Austin

Austin’s Planning Commission gave preliminarily approval to comprehensive changes to the city’s short-term rentals policy that are aimed at streamlining enforcement and complying with a series of court rulings that nullified key aspects of the existing regulations. In a unanimous vote, the panel advanced the proposed ordinance to its final stop at Austin City Council, where members could amend it at a meeting Feb. 27 before taking a final vote.
