Del Mar's STR Ordinance Approved, Awaits Coastal Input

The city of Del Mar, California, officially approved a short-term rental (STR) ordinance Monday evening, following years of discussion. The policy now needs the Coastal Commission's approval. Some have voiced concerns about the relatively small number of STRs allowed under the new ordinance and a restriction for any future STRS. The ordinance allows about 5% of the city's total dwelling units to be set aside for STRs.
