EU STR Bookings Surge by 9.7%

Guests booked 144.3 million nights in short-term rental accommodations across the European Union through platforms such as Airbnb, Booking.com, and Expedia during the first quarter of 2026, a 9.7% increase from the same period in 2025 and 16.6% higher than in early 2024, according to Eurostat. The figures cover holiday and other short-stay accommodations booked via online platforms, highlighting continued growth in travel demand. Spain, France, and Italy dominated the top 10 destinations.
