EU STR Guest Nights Rise Sharply in Summer 2025

Between July and September 2025, EU short-term rentals saw 398.1 million guest nights, up 8.7% from 2024 and 28.2% from 2023, according to Eurostat. Bookings through platforms like Airbnb, Booking.com, and Expedia drove the increase, with July posting the highest year-on-year growth at 10%. Spain’s Andalucia led EU regions with 13.3 million guest nights, followed by Croatia’s Adriatic coast (9.6 million) and Ile de France (9 million). The top 20 destinations were concentrated in Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, and Croatia.
