Gilbert, AZ, Moves to Strengthen STR Enforcement Procedures
9/1/2026
Gilbert, Arizona, will consider changes to its short-term rental ordinance designed to formalize how violations are reported and enforced. Ordinance No. 2993 would amend the town's existing STR regulations by establishing procedures for notifying owners of violations and carrying out enforcement actions. Gilbert already requires STR owners to maintain an annual town license, register rental properties with Maricopa County, maintain a state transaction privilege tax license, and provide neighboring properties with emergency contact information. The Town Council was scheduled to consider the ordinance Sept. 2.
