Government Issues Royal Decree for National STR Register in Spain

Spain has issued a royal decree that will establish a single national register for short-term rental properties. The law, due to go into effect on Jan. 2, will make it obligatory for rental properties to register with one central digital service and obtain a code for them to list on platforms. Housing Minister Isabel Rodriguez has not yet disclosed much about the new register but she said that the service would be in line with an incoming EU directive that will require short-term rental properties to register on a national database.
