Grand Traverse County, Michigan, commissioners are backing a proposal that could allow counties to impose an additional tax on hotel stays and short-term rentals. The commission approved a resolution asking state lawmakers to grant counties the authority to establish a local accommodation tax covering hotels, motels, rentals, and other temporary lodging.
