Green Bay Plan Commission Advances STR Ordinance Updates
2/25/2026
The Green Bay Plan Commission voted to advance proposed updates to the city’s short-term rental ordinance, sending them to the Common Council for consideration on March 3. The changes aim to improve neighborhood quality of life, transparency, and accountability while still allowing STRs. Requirements include posted house rules covering parking, noise, and local contact information, along with a public online GIS map of permitted rentals. The proposal also strengthens permit applications and renewals and adds a structured correction process before suspension or revocation. Mayor Eric Genrich said the updates empower residents and create clearer paths to resolving problems.
