Guesty Acquires Smily to Expand in France’s STR Market

Guesty has acquired French property management software company Smily to expand its presence in France, described as the world’s second-largest short-term rental market, with more than 1 million active listings and about $9 billion in annual gross booking value through online travel agencies. Financial terms were not disclosed, but Smily’s five founders and other shareholders are reinvesting part of their proceeds in Guesty equity. Smily provides property management, channel management, guest communications, direct-booking, payment, and task-management tools, and has processed more than €3.3 billion in bookings. Guesty plans to combine teams and introduce AI capabilities, including its Agent Hub, to Smily customers.
