A federal judge dismissed a lawsuit by Airbnb and New Orleans residents challenging the city’s new short-term rental law. Plaintiffs argued the law’s vague restrictions infringed on their right to lease properties and caused financial losses from renovations. The judge ruled there is “no fundamental right to rent out residential property on a short-term basis,” upholding the August ordinance. He also required platforms to verify listings before bookings.
