Kent County Planning Commissioners Vote 'No' on Loosening STR Laws
7/22/2025
The Kent County, Delaware, Regional Planning Commission has voted against loosening the county’s rules on short-term rentals, defined in the county as any rental lasting fewer than 30 days. As written, the county’s current ordinance says that any short-term rental property smaller than five acres must be owner-occupied. Levy Court Commissioners asked the Regional Planning Commission to consider removal of the owner-occupancy requirement.
