Lodgify Report Outlines Stats of US Vacation Rental Market

2/2/2026

Lodgify’s 2026 State of the Industry Report analyzed 1.6 million bookings and surveys from 270 hosts, revealing key trends from 2025. Direct bookings outperformed OTAs, offering longer stays, booking windows, and slightly higher rates, prompting hosts to invest in direct channels. Short, last-minute trips dominated, with 72% of bookings lasting one-to-three nights and 32% made within a week of check-in. Revenue growth slowed, with average daily rates rising only 1.6%, below inflation. Technology adoption increased, focusing on channel managers and automation, though 27% struggled to choose tools. AI use was early but growing, with 28% using it for messaging or content creation, highlighting evolving operational strategies in the industry.
