Maui Vacation Rental Showdown Vote Happens July 2

The Maui County Council Committee will take up Bill 9, banning short-term rentals from apartment-zoned areas in South and West Maui, on July 2. The debate started in early 2024 but gained steam after the August fires. The committee recently heard dozens of hours of testimony from residents, property owners, and other stakeholders on the issue.
