Mayors Discuss Possible Ban on Local STR Rules
2/2/2026
Several mayors in Kenton County, Kentucky, are voicing opposition to proposed state legislation that would prevent local governments from regulating short-term rentals (STRs). The bill, Senate Bill 112, would bar cities from imposing licensing requirements, density caps, or residency rules on rentals. Senate Bill 112 was introduced to the Kentucky Senate on Jan. 21. It is currently awaiting a committee assignment.
