Michigan Township Finalizes New Short-Term Rental Policies

In Michigan, Pittsfield Township now has new regulations in place regarding short-term rentals after several months of debate and modifications. Some STRs were being used for parties and weddings, often drawing noise complaints from neighbors. In addition, many were not being properly maintained. According to Pittsfield Township Supervisor Trish Reilly, the new rules balance allowing rentals and protecting public safety and sustainability. Reilly says one of the main goals has been to eliminate the purchase of houses to be used solely as short-term rentals.
