New Braunfels Short-Term Rental Ban Faces New Legal Challenge

The legal battle over a short-term rental (STR) ban in residential areas of New Braunfels, Texas, continues, as attorneys representing STR owners filed an appeal against the city's ordinance. Chance Weldon, Director of Litigation for the Texas Public Policy Foundation, which represents the STR owners, expressed concern over the district court's previous ruling in favor of the city. "Really this district court opinion here is dangerous to property rights all across the country," said Weldon. He emphasized the belief that the ordinance is unconstitutional, particularly for clients with properties near popular attractions.
