New Pittsburgh STR Rules Advance in City Council
2/16/2026
The Pittsburgh City Council has advanced legislation to regulate short-term rentals, though final votes are at least three months away. The proposals would require rental owners to obtain licenses, designate a local responsible party, and seek zoning approval for rentals in residential districts not attached to an owner’s home. Additional requirements would cap the number of rentals per building, ban parties, limit stays to 28 days, and require guest records.
