New York Legislators Propose Short-Term Rental Registration

New York State Senator Michelle Hinchey and Assemblywoman Pat Fahy are sponsoring bills to create a registration system for short-term rentals in New York. "In many areas across the state housing stock is being taken off the market," said Hinchey. "Many homes and places that should be full-time homes have been turned into investment properties and short-term rentals. The bills also look to allow the collection of sales and occupancy taxes on rentals.
