NYC Bill Easing STR Restrictions Dies

A bill to relax short-term rental restrictions in New York City failed to make the city council’s final voting agenda of 2025. The proposal would have allowed owners of single- and two-family homes to rent their primary residence without being physically present and doubled the guest limit per reservation. The bill faced “significant outside pressure and misinformation,” according to its lead sponsor.
