Property Owners Challenge Beverly Hills STR Ban

A group of vacation homeowners is suing Beverly Hills over a city ordinance that bans short-term rentals in residential zones. The Beverly Hills Vacation Rental Alliance argues the prohibition violates property owners’ due process, privacy, and equal-protection rights and amounts to an unconstitutional taking under the Fifth Amendment. The city enacted the ordinance in August 2025 to address problems including noise and neighborhood disturbances. The lawsuit was filed in federal court in California.
