Riverside County, CA, Implements New Short-Term Rental Rules and Fees

10/13/2026

Riverside County, California, has implemented amendments to its short-term rental regulations aimed at strengthening enforcement and addressing neighborhood concerns. Ordinance No. 927.3 took effect September 24, eliminating the grace period for renewing short-term rental certificates. Operators must now complete renewals before their certificates expire. Updated registration fees, effective October 25, will increase initial registration costs to $1,077 and annual renewal fees to $775. The changes are part of the county's broader effort to strengthen oversight of vacation rentals.
