Short-Term Rental Operators Seek Clarity on Dallas Rules Ahead of FIFA World Cup

Vacation rental operators are calling on the Dallas City Council to provide clearer rules regarding short-term rentals ahead of next year's FIFA World Cup. An appellate court in July ruled that the 2023 ordinance banning vacation rentals in single-family neighborhoods in Dallas, Texas, is unenforceable. Lisa Sievers of the Dallas Short Term Rental Alliance said that while she is pleased with the latest appellate opinion, "short-term rental owners and operators want an ordinance. The ball is in the city council's court right now." Thousands of international visitors are expected in North Texas next summer for the World Cup.
