Short-Term Rental Owner Sues Grand County Commissioners
3/5/2025
In Colorado, the Grand County Board of Commissioners is being sued by short-term rental owner William MacDonald, who is disputing the Board's authority over short-term rental regulations. MacDonald, a former county planning commissioner, and his wife operate three short-term rentals in the region. The complaint against the Board was filed in 2024 and was to be heard on April 14, 2025, but the commissioners have approved a mediation agreement. County attorney Maxine Krostue stated, "The plaintiffs' counsel and myself mutually agreed upon a mediator, who is a judge in Colorado but not in this county, to act as the mutual arbiter."
