Suing to Keep STRs Open, Park Township Owners Tout Value

A group of property owners in Park Township, Michigan, are suing for the right to continue renting out their homes on platforms. The township is considering a ban on short-term rentals (STRs) in residential zoning districts. Park Township Neighbors, a nonprofit made up mostly of STR owners in the area, is suing the township to be exempted from the ban, saying they should be grandfathered in under state law. For now, a judge has put an injunction in place to allow the property owners to continue renting out the homes on a short-term basis.
