US Small-Town Rentals Surged in Summer 2025, Lodgify Report Finds

Lodgify’s Summer 2025 U.S. Vacation Rental Report shows travelers favoring small towns over big cities, with Kingsbury, Texas, Owego, New York, and East Glacier Park, Montana, ranking among the most-booked destinations. Demand for authentic, local experiences drove this shift, alongside changing booking habits. Guests booked more spontaneously, with reservation windows shrinking 3.8% year over year and last-minute bookings rising 7.1%. Despite shorter stays, occupancy climbed 3.4% and bookings per listing grew nearly 10%. Direct booking also gained traction, accounting for 51% of stays longer than eight nights.
