Wake County Seeks Public Insight on Short-Term Rental Regulation Amendments

4/9/2025

The Wake County, North Carolina, Board of Commissioners is seeking public input on a proposed amendment to the regulations for short-term rentals. The amendment aims to remove the current requirement for property owners to also be occupants of their short-term rental properties. The issue will be discussed at the Board's upcoming meeting. Wake County's current short-term rental policy requires property owners to reside in the homes they rent out on a short-term basis. The proposed amendment would allow non-resident owners to participate in the market.
