Cyprus’ Attorney-General Office Rejects STR Cap
The Law Office of the Republic of Cyprus has rejected a proposal to limit the number of short-term rental (STR) properties that an individual or company can register. Despite the decision, the House Commerce Committee is set to review new measures in line with upcoming EU regulations. The Deputy Tourism Ministry had proposed capping STR registrations at two properties per owner to prevent investors from acquiring multiple properties and running them as STRs to avoid facing the same regulations as hotels.
