Richmond Heights Pushes Back on State Bill That Would Limit STR Authority
Richmond Heights, Ohio, City Council voted with no opposition to pass a resolution that officially pushes back on Ohio Senate Bill 104, which would limit the authority of local municipalities to regulate short-term rentals. The city currently has a ban on short-term rentals in residential neighborhoods that was passed in August of 2023. Mayor Kim Thomas wrote a statement that was read by Clerk of Council Tracey Blair during a March 25 committee of the whole meeting that outlined the city’s grievances with the bill – stating that if introduced in its current form S.B. 104 would violate the city’s ability to self-govern.
