Expedia Group reported quarterly lodging gross bookings of $19.2 billion, a 7 percent increase year-over-year and revenue of $3.4 billion, a 6 percent increase from the same period last year. Both were company records for the second quarter. “Travel demand has remained robust, and we’re pleased to see our continued execution result in solid performance for the second quarter,” said CEO Peter Kern. “Overall, the data shows that travel continues to be a top priority for consumers.” Expedia Group launched the One Key unified rewards program at the start of July, allowing members to earn and use rewards on bookings through Expedia, Hotels.com, and Vrbo, which means points can be spent on vacation rentals for the first time.
