Property Owners Sue Santa Fe County Over Short-Term Rental Ordinance

Rules in Santa Fe on short-term rentals (STRs) have spawned a federal lawsuit. “It’s about people of Santa Fe County’s constitutional rights, including property rights, privacy rights, and first amendment rights and rights to due process,” said DomasLaw LLC Lead Attorney Stephen Domas. The grassroots group STR Fellowship of Santa Fe County is suing the county, claiming an ordinance that passed last October violates their rights as STR owners. That ordinance has rules like noise restrictions and parking requirements.
