Share Your Story: Rewarding Heroes of the COVID-19 Crisis

Great Ocean Condos and Homes is recognizing the hard work of first responders in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis by giving away free, week-long vacations at its New Smyrna Beach property. This VRMA member asked fellow members to nominate everyday heroes of the crisis they know, including those who work in hospitals, police officers, firefighters, grocery store workers, and truckers.

"We want to highlight all the GOOD that is going on in the world right now," said Jennifer Frankenstein, owner and CEO. "There are so many people doing so much to get us through this difficult time. These heroes will need time to recoup after we are through this. My owners also wanted to help. The kept asking if there was anything they could do. We started with just a few vacations to give away and now we will give away 30 vacations!"

With difficult times creating turmoil for vacation rental businesses everywhere, Great Ocean Condos and Homes is striving to start a #vacationrentalownersgiveback across the world. "We want owners to open their homes to first responders and give them a well-deserved break from all they have been through. This is an extremely traumatic situation and if we can help in this small way to say thank you, it would mean so much."

Nominations closed on Friday, April 24. Hundreds of nominations were submitted by people from all over the country. The Great Ocean team said they were "moved by the selfless stories" that filled their inbox.

Thank you to those who have and continue to faithfully and selflessly serve on the front lines during this time of uncertainty and fear. Your efforts, dedication to the safety of others, and hours of hard work are truly remarkable. Grab a tissue and learn more about the winners and their stories
