European short-term rental demand had a strong January, with 18.1 percent more nights stayed than January last year and a huge 28 percent more than in 2019, according to data from AirDNA. This extended seasonality pushed occupancy up 5 percent from last year and 6 percent above pre-pandemic levels. Meanwhile, available supply at the European level surpassed 2019 levels for the first time since the pandemic began, with 4.7 percent more properties online in January than in January 2019.
