Nantucket Residents Vote Down Proposed Restrictions on Short-Term Rentals

Residents of Nantucket, Mass, have voted against a proposal to limit their ability to rent out their homes at the tourist destination. At the town's annual meeting on May 6, residents voted 558-378 against Article 60, which would have prohibited short-term rentals (STRs) in residential zones unless the owner either lives in the home for at least six months per year or uses long-term rentals more than STRs.
