Only Three Sedona Hosts Have Applied to a Program That Would Pay Local Landlords to Rent Homes to Residents

An effort by Sedona, Ariz., to get short-term rental (STR) property owners to delist their properties is off to a slow start. In September, the city joined a growing group of municipalities offering cash for STR hosts to delist their vacation homes and instead rent them out to the local workforce. If a host signed a yearlong lease with a tenant, they could receive between $3,000 and $10,000, depending on the size of the property. After three months, the total number of applications has stalled at three; only one has been approved.
