Generative AI for Vacation Rental Metasearch: Interview with HomeToGo’s Mahendra Roopa

Mahendra Roopa, HomeToGo’s director of engineering, offers his thoughts on generative artificial intelligence (AI) and its uses for the travel industry. "We began working with generative AI at the beginning of 2023, but conversational AI is something that has been on our radar for a long time," he said. "After seeing the breakthroughs with ChatGPT 3.5 and 4.0 we saw an opportunity where developing this technology could drive real benefits for both sets of our customers" Roopa continued, "It’s important to note that we aren’t just rushing into AI because it’s trendy. We’re building tools that will drastically improve how our travelers can find and book their perfectly unique vacation rentals."
