Data released by Eurostat, the statistical agency of the European Union, has revealed that the number of nights in short-term rental accommodation booked via Airbnb, Booking.com, Expedia Group, or TripAdvisor increased by 34 percent last year to 364 million nights. Although it marked a recovery compared to 2020, the number is still 29 percent below the 512 million nights that were recorded in 2019.
